Mike Verzaleno - Leader in Industrial Packaging Operations
A senior executive in the industrial packaging sector with more than three decades of experience with Kearny Steel Container, Mike Verzaleno has served as president of the family-owned company since 1992, where he oversees daily operations related to production, sales, purchasing, supply management, and employee training. Under Mike Verzaleno's direction, the company reconditions 55-gallon steel and plastic drums, supplies rebottled 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBC containers, and recycles industrial packaging used by businesses in sectors such as food, flavor and fragrance, chemicals, and waste management.
Mr. Verzaleno is responsible for the overall operation of the facility and supervision of a workforce of more than 200 employees. Kearny Steel Container, founded in 1950, also has operations in Jessup, Pennsylvania. Its sister company, National Packaging Services, operates a warehouse in Secaucus, New Jersey, as well as another location in Rochester, New York. Mr. Verzaleno studied business management at Bloomfield College in New Jersey, where he earned a BA.
Outside of work, Mr. Verzaleno is involved in both industry and community activities. He is a member of RIPA, the Reusable Industrial Packaging Association, and sponsored and managed the Akadema Heat Club travel baseball team. His personal interests include golf, offshore saltwater fishing, weight training, hiking with his family, and running on the beach. He has also taken part in golf and fishing events, including club championships at Glen Ridge Country Club and the Bermuda Triple Crown Blue Marlin Tournament in 2019.
